Our Mission
The Live Like Braun Foundation keeps Braun’s legacy alive through awareness-raising and grantmaking in three areas – scholarships, repair and building of public tennis centers, and raising awareness about impaired driving risks.
1. Scholarships – Braun lived his life with passion, purpose, and an unwavering drive to excel in everything he did. He had a rare ability to connect with people—whether he was playing tennis or volleyball, sharing a meal with someone he had just met, or being interviewed for the Jefferson Scholarship Award.
We seek individuals who embody that same drive, compassion, and spirit so that we can support them in their pursuits. Whether pursuing a trade school education, attending a four-year university, or participating in the camps where Braun once worked, we support opportunities that keep his energy and kindness alive.
The Live Like Braun Foundation will be giving 2026 scholarships at Loyola High School, Palisades Charter High School, Marymount High School, Mira Costa High School, Green Dot Charter Schools, and the Rising Above Disabilities Camp, where Braun volunteered.
We are currently finalizing details with these schools. Stay tuned; we are excited to share full details about how to apply by January 2026 and hoping to add more scholarship opportunities as we grow.
2. Public Tennis Access – From the moment Braun could walk, he had a tennis racket in his hand. He loved the game—not just for the competition, but for the camaraderie it created, both on and off the court. Tennis gave him joy, whether he was playing, cheering on his teammates, or encouraging others to share in the sport he loved so much. Opponents proactively shared what a joy it was to play against him.
As part of his legacy, we aim to support access to tennis by building and repairing public courts, hosting mentorship events, and organizing community tournaments. Through these efforts, we hope to share Braun’s love of the game and the values it instilled in him.
We are beginning by helping to rebuild the tennis opportunities destroyed by the 2025 California wildfires in Braun’s hometown of Pacific Palisades and Altadena. Follow us for updates.
3. Impaired Driving Awareness – Braun’s life was tragically cut short when he was killed by an alleged drunk driver. His mother, Jennifer Levi, has since dedicated her life to ensuring that no other family endures the heartbreak of losing a loved one to impaired driving. Through the Live Like Braun Foundation, she supports DUI prevention efforts by raising mainstream awareness, participating in school assemblies, leading digital awareness campaigns, and partnering with driver education programs to promote safe and responsible driving. She is a Mothers Against Drunk Driving CA State Legislative Member and an Advocate for CA DUI Sentencing Reform.
